Latest Club News 15th January 2021

Happy Happy New Year beautiful club member!!

2021 has started full steam ahead and if our world situation politically and pandemically is telling us anything it is that we need to develop a more flexible attitude and going with the flow rather than become frustrated at the things beyond our control.

A few doors closed means others will open.

Let’s make a collective effort to welcome this new year as the year of new opportunity, gaining new resources to become more resilient and finding opportunities through the challenges, while fostering happy and healthy relationships in our centre and beyond.

It has been so wonderful to step back into the centre after our mini break and see our activities keen to return and with such enthusiasm these past 2 weeks.

We have some of our original activities back like Mah Jong, French and some exciting new versions of Rock & Roll/Swing, Ukulele, Scrabble plus a Creative Writers group (with more focus on ‘creative’) with Claire scheduled to start if enough numbers on 21st January!

We are so happy that the energetic Border Rockers are back hiring our centre Thursday nights from 21st January!

There is even a Walking group on Thursdays just meet outside Coolangatta Senior Citizens 7.30am and our club Vice President Lesley will take you on a walk around the beautiful surrounds – your pace, your leisure, you may even like to stop for coffee at one of our wonderful local cafes.

Please see our updated timetable and keep checking the website also for any other changes.

New Activities

A reminder to put your names down on our expressions of interest form on the noticeboard to ensure your favourite activity runs!

We are still seeking more names on the lists for Chess, Laughter & Meditation for Wellbeing, Singing for FUN, and Ballet (a great way to warm-up and extend your body, with some interesting history of dance added in – this class is most likely starting in February as we have a few interested already).

New Vogue Sequence Dancing

Amazing musical couple Patti & Tony Gilbert will continue to provide live music sessions for our New Vogue Sequence Dancing twice a month every 2nd & 4th Saturday, alternating weeks with Colin & Elizabeth. Patti will also be alternating weeks with Brian & Mary on Thursday mornings every 2nd and 4th Thursday.

Call Dianne on 0417 389 650 to book for the live music sessions. No bookings required for the recorded music sessions at members low prices. (Note the price per person for live music sessions is $12 Saturdays and $10 Thursdays)

As for our New Vogue Tuesday & Friday nights, ‘The show must go on” and our wonderful Colin & Elizabeth will play recorded music to the dancers and work out the sequences that you all want to dance to - so thank you for continuing to support our centre’s dance nights as we are on the lookout for new teachers to cater to our more beginner dancers.

Our talented hairdressers Hair by Suzie & Ivan Monday-Wednesday 8am-12pm now offer drop-ins as well as book-ins for your new do or beauty treatments at amazing member’s prices.
